It’s KFUO’s Concordia On-Air College Fair week! This entire week we’ll be talking to folks from each of our Concordias about what makes their school unique and why students should consider attending their Concordia. Find all of the interviews on the On-Air College Fair page.
John Korntheuer, Associate Director of Admission for Concordia University Chicago, speaks about the wonderful opportunities for students at CUC’s campus in beautiful River Forest, IL. CUC is located about ten miles west of the Loop in Chicago, and students often use the easily accessible public transportation to access the unique cultural opportunities downtown. CUC was founded as a teacher’s college, and the College of Education is a very popular choice for students. Church work programs, including the only undergraduate Deaconess degree, are strong programs as well, and Careers For Christ is a unique visit weekend specifically for those students. As an NCAA Division III school, student-athletes have many opportunities to participate in athletics as a student, and intramurals are a popular choice for those who don’t want to play at the intercollegiate level. The arts are very popular, and the Wind Symphony and Kapelle choir travel all over the world. Service learning is very important, and many opportunities are built into student life, athletic programs, and educational programs. Listen to the interview to learn even more about CUC!
