How did Concordia University students have conversations about church work while serving as Young Adult Representatives at this year’s Higher Things conferences? Heidi McKeage (Concordia University, Chicago; Sophomore; Deaconess Program), Maximus Fritsche (Concordia University, Nebraska; Junior; Pre-Seminary) and Isabel Seifferlein (Concordia University, Nebraska; Sophomore; Lutheran Teacher Program) join Sarah for our Set Apart to Serve series to talk about the church work programs they’re in, the Concordia Universities they’re attending, their individual journeys into these programs, who encouraged them to consider church work, campus life on their respective Concordias, their experiences at Higher Things over the summer, the conversations they had with youth who were considering church work, and why it’s important to have these conversations with young people.

Christ’s church will continue until He returns, and that church will continue to need church workers.
Set Apart to Serve (SAS) is an initiative of the LCMS to recruit church workers. Together, we pray for workers for the Kingdom of God and encourage children to consider church work vocations.
Here are three easy ways you can participate in SAS:
1. Pray with your children for God to provide church workers.
2. Talk to your children about becoming church workers.
3. Thank God for the people who work in your congregation.
