In this Kitchen Table Talk episode, the Ladies are joined by Pastor Michael Ziegler, current speaker of The Lutheran Hour, for an encouraging conversation on the importance of memorizing Scripture.
Why should Christians take the time to memorize Scripture? Does memorizing scripture help you understand it better? What are some “pro-tips” for committing lengthy passages to memory? Were you a theater kid growing up? How did you get started memorizing longer passages? Are there elements of our modern life that get in the way of our memorizing Scripture and other salutary texts — if so, how can we counteract those? Is it easier or harder to memorize texts as we get older?
The Rev. Dr. Michael Ziegler has served with Lutheran Hour Ministries as speaker of The Lutheran Hour since 2018. Before joining LHM, he served as a parish pastor in two congregations and as an officer in the US Air Force. He and his wife, Amy, have four children.
