The theme for this Youth Gathering makes a profound claim: Jesus is Lord “In All Things.” He is Lord over the good and the bad. His reign stretches from beginning to end. He holds together all aspects of all our lives. But this raises some serious questions. In this session, one of the theological advisors for this Gathering will help participants take a detailed and in-depth look at the biblical and theological foundations behind the Gathering theme. Consider it a behind-the-scenes look at the theology of the Gathering. It will address some tough questions, clarify some basic Christian teachings, and prepare participants to live and believe that Jesus is Lord “In All Things.”
Bio: Peter Nafzger is a professor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He teaches courses in preaching, Lutheran theology, and Christian formation. He also coaches the Seminary basketball team (the “Preachers”). Before joining the faculty, he was a pastor in Minnesota. He and his wife Katie met at Concordia University, Nebraska and have four children: Olivia, Johann, August, and Louisa. As a family, they enjoy hiking, camping, rock climbing, road trips, German board games, World Cup soccer, and March Madness.
